Sarah McColgan has developed a portfolio that blurs the lines between diverse genres, cultures and industries. She has produced award winning work in the worlds of motion and still photography. A graduate of NYC’s School of Visual Arts, McColgan began her career as an editorial photographer and her images have been published globally in countless magazines and advertising campaigns. She has directed over 60+ music videos, accumulating over 5 billion views. As a director her work has been screened in film festivals around the world, and she has received MTV VMA, CMT, UKMVA, awards & nominations for her music video work. Her multifaceted approach to image-making seamlessly combines motion, still photography, and creative direction to build a visual language that is all her own. 

Los Angeles has played a profound role in shaping my creative journey. These photos were taken on the sets of various projects shot throughout the city over the past 15 years. For many years, it was my sanctuary from New York. Los Angeles was where I evolved from Photographer to Director. It’s where I live now with my husband, and where our daughter is growing up. Each image represents a unique chapter in my career, a moment shared with my talented crew of collaborators and friends - memories from moments I hold close and lessons Ive learned along the way. More than that, they embody the undeniable beauty of Los Angeles, a city that has shaped much of my life and work.
